Technician (Water Treatment Plant Operations & Maintenance)

Role Overview: Full-time, on-site. The Water plant technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of water treatment facilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of our water treatment plant, providing clean drinking water for our students and staff, and ensuring the treatment of wastewater and maintenance of the swimming pool.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain the water treatment plant, including chemical treatment, filtration, and disinfection processes.
  • Monitor and test water quality parameters, such as pH, turbidity, and bacterial contamination.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant equipment and machinery.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international regulations and standards for water quality and treatment.
  • Develop and implement water conservation and sustainability initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the facilities team to ensure efficient use of water resources and minimize waste.

Qualification, skills and knowledge:

  • Certificate in water treatment plant operations (e.g. OIT, WTP)
  • Minimum of Trade Test 1, 2, & 3 in Plumbing & Pipe Fittings.
  • Knowledge of sustainability and water conversion practices.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in operating and maintenance of water treatment plants, wastewater plant and swimming pool.
  • Knowledge of local and international regulations and standards for water quality and treatment.
  • Physical ability to lift, bend, and work in a fast-paced environment.
