As the school gates open this September, we are proud to say: Charterhouse Lagos is ready.
After years of planning, building, recruiting and preparing, the 2025 / 2026 academic year marks a new milestone in our journey. With our Secondary School and Boarding House now complete, this term will welcome not only returning Primary School pupils, but also our very first cohorts of Year 7, Year 8, and Year 9 students – including our first boarders.
This is a year of beginnings, of growth, and of building a lasting legacy.
To all the families joining us for the first time – welcome. Whether your child is joining us in Primary or Secondary, as a day student or a boarder, you are now part of something extraordinary. Charterhouse Lagos is proud to be the first British independent school in Nigeria, combining over 400 years of academic tradition with the values and expectations of Nigerian families.
Our new students will find not only world-class teaching and purpose-built facilities, but also a culture grounded in Excellence, Respect, Integrity, Courtesy, Service, and Wellbeing. This is a school where every child is known, supported, and encouraged to thrive.
Throughout August, our academic and operations teams have been hard at work preparing for the new term. Teachers across both the Primary and Secondary School have been engaged in training and induction, working collaboratively to shape an exciting year of learning ahead.
Our campus is fully open:
This is not a school that rushed to open. It is a school that has been carefully and professionally prepared — and every detail reflects our long-term vision.
For families considering boarding, Charterhouse Lagos offers something truly unique. Our Boarding House has been designed specifically for Nigerian families – with beautifully furnished bedrooms, strong routines, and dedicated pastoral teams. Students are cared for, supervised, and supported in a safe, structured environment that encourages both independence and wellbeing.
Boarding helps students develop confidence, focus, and friendships that last a lifetime. With warm meals, quiet study areas, recreational spaces, and houseparents who know every child by name, this is boarding that feels like home.
Whether you live nearby or abroad, our boarding provision offers flexibility and reassurance.
While this is the start of a new year, it is not too late to enrol. Places remain available in Primary and in Years 7 to 9, for both boarding and day students. Assessments can be completed in person or online, and tours are available throughout the week in person or online.
We invite you to come and see the school for yourself. Walk through the classrooms. Visit the boarding house. Speak to the staff who will guide your child’s education.
This is more than a school. It’s a community – and you’re welcome to be part of it.
Charterhouse Lagos is open, ready, and looking forward to the year ahead. Let’s begin.
