The opening weeks of a new school are about more than logistics. They are about setting a tone. At Charterhouse Lagos, the tone in our Secondary School is now firmly established: one of ambition, focus, and shared purpose.

Classrooms are calm and productive. Corridors are orderly but full of life. The school day moves with rhythm and purpose — and learning is at the heart of it all.

    Teaching That Sets the Standard

From the start, our teachers have brought energy and clarity to the classroom. They are not easing students in gently. They are setting expectations — academic, behavioural, and cultural — that reflect the high standards we have promised from the beginning. This is made possible by having every teacher present in the school, in the classroom, and building relationships directly with students.

In every lesson, you can see our core values at work: Excellence, in the quality of questioning and the level of stretch. Respect, in the way students speak to one another and listen to their teachers. Integrity, in the way effort is valued just as much as attainment.

Across English, Maths, Science, and beyond, lessons are purposeful and active. Students are engaged, challenged, and already making progress.

    A School That Feels Intentional

Beyond the classrooms, you can feel the culture settling in. Students move between lessons efficiently. They know where they are meant to be — and why it matters.

The boarding community has played a big role in this. With the support of teachers and house staff, boarders are developing routines, taking responsibility, and showing leadership in the way they conduct themselves.

In both day and boarding settings, students are learning not just what’s expected — but why. That sense of shared accountability is already visible in the atmosphere on campus..

The Foundation upon which We Build

We’re proud of how far we’ve come in just a few weeks. But we’re even more focused on what comes next. Because excellence is not a finish line — it’s a habit that will stay with them for life.

At Charterhouse Lagos, we are building a learning culture that is disciplined without being rigid, ambitious without being arrogant, and values-driven in every detail.

If you’re looking for a school where your child will be known, stretched, and supported — now is the time to visit.

Tours and Taster Days are available throughout the term. Assessments can be arranged at any time, either in person or online. Admissions remain open for students in Years 1 to 9. Applications are also in progress for 2026 including Year 10 (IGCSE) and Year 12 (A level).
