The start of a new term is always a moment to pause and take stock — not just of what has been achieved, but of what lies ahead.

As we begin Term 2 at Charterhouse Lagos, there is a real sense of momentum across the school. Term 1 was about establishing routines, relationships, and standards. Term 2 is about building real depth — in confidence, in learning, and in direction, particularly for families beginning to think seriously about the next stage of their child’s education.

    Why Term 2 matters

Term 2 is a pivotal point in the academic year. For our students, it is a time when learning habits become embedded and expectations are raised. For families, it is often when conversations begin to shift from where we are to where we are heading next.

At Charterhouse Lagos, that forward planning is very deliberate. From the earliest years of secondary education, we are clear about the pathways that lead to Year 10 (IGCSE) and onwards to Year 12 (A level). These programmes, launching in September 2026, require careful preparation — academically, pastorally, and in terms of mindset. Term 2 is where much of that groundwork begins.

Building towards IGCSE and A level

This term also marks an important step forward in our secondary school journey, with Natalie Parker joining us to lead Sixth Form development. Her focus is on ensuring that our A level provision is academically ambitious, personally supportive, and clearly aligned with global university pathways.

Crucially, this work does not sit in isolation. A strong A level experience depends on a strong IGCSE foundation. That is why our planning for Year 10 (IGCSE) and Year 12 (A level) is fully connected — one coherent journey, within one school, underpinned by consistent values and high expectations.

An invitation to see the school in action

For families exploring secondary, boarding, or senior pathways, there is no substitute for seeing a school first-hand. We are therefore very pleased to be hosting our first Open Day on Saturday 31 January.

This Open Day is an opportunity to:

    • Tour the campus and boarding facilities
    • Meet senior leaders and teaching staff
    • Learn more about our approach to IGCSE and A level preparation
    • Learn about our Primary School (Year 1 to Year 6 ) and our Secondary School (Year 7 to Year 9)
    • Ask questions about admissions for September 2026

Whether your child is approaching Year 10 (IGCSE) or you are looking ahead to Year 12 (A level), the Open Day is designed to help families make informed, confident decisions.

    Looking ahead with confidence

As Term 2 begins, our focus is clear: strong teaching, supportive structures, and thoughtful preparation for the years that matter most. We are proud to offer a British academic education rooted in Nigeria, and to be part of the wider Charterhouse family of schools — a tradition built on excellence, character, and ambition.

We look forward to welcoming families to the school over the coming weeks, and to continuing conversations about the journey ahead.

Tours and Open Day places are now available for families interested in Year 10 (IGCSE) and Year 12 (A level) entry in September 2026.
