A School That’s Built — and Fully Alive

This term marks the full opening of Charterhouse Lagos. From Primary through to Year 9, every part of our campus is now in use. Classrooms, science labs, boarding houses, music suites, and sports facilities — they’re not just finished. They’re being used, every day, by students and teachers who are excited to learn.

Most importantly, our teaching team is fully in place and on site. That means every lesson is led by a subject specialist who knows their students, understands the curriculum, and is focused on long-term growth.

    Learning That Sticks

Great schools don’t just deliver lessons. They build learning relationships that allow children to thrive.

From the first days of this term, teachers at Charterhouse Lagos have been applying our unique Learning Principles — a clear, research-informed framework that underpins every lesson. These include:

Clarity – Clear explanation, purpose, and expectations

Challenge – High standards, stretch, and ambition

Support – Scaffolding, encouragement, and responsive teaching

Reflection – Time to review, respond, and improve

Relationships – Mutual respect, trust, and a sense of being known

You can see these in action every day. In Maths, teachers use precise questioning and follow-up. In English, students are building arguments with real confidence. In Science, practicals are purposeful and well-prepared. Across the board, learning is intentional and connected — and it’s already leading to progress.

    Boarding That Builds Character

For our boarding students, these relationships go even deeper. With teachers also involved in the life of the boarding house — from supervising prep to supporting routines — children experience a sense of consistency and care across every part of the day.

That sense of structure, support, and shared purpose is one of the things our parents have commented on most. Boarders feel known. They feel cared for. And they are learning how to take responsibility in a safe, supportive environment.

    We’re Now Enrolling for 2026

If you’re thinking ahead, now is the time to plan. Year 10 (IGCSE) and Year 12 (A level) will open in September 2026, and we’re already accepting enquiries, applications, and expressions of interest.

In the meantime, I’ll be visiting Port Harcourt and Warri this week to meet prospective families. If you’re based in those cities — or anywhere else in Nigeria — please do get in touch through our social media channels to book a meeting or find out more.

Visit, Tour, and Experience It for Yourself

We continue to welcome families to our school campus throughout the term. Tours, Taster Days, and Assessments are all available — in person or online.

If you’re looking for a school that combines academic excellence with strong relationships, now is the time to take the next step.

I look forward to welcoming you to Charterhouse Lagos, the first British Independent School in Nigeria.
