IGCSE Admissions
Students in Years 10 and 11 follow a two-year IGCSE programme. This provides strong academic foundations and prepares students for A-Level pathways in the Sixth Form.
All students follow a core curriculum that includes:
- English Language and English Literature (two separate IGCSEs)
- Mathematics
- At least two sciences from Biology, Chemistry and Physics
In addition to these core subjects, students choose three or four additional subjects.
This allows for personalisation while ensuring academic breadth.
Most students will complete eight or nine IGCSEs by the end of Year 11.
IGCSE Admissions Process:
• A 1:1 meeting with a member of the Senior Leadership team to explore academic strengths, subject interests and ambitions.
• Completion of the CAT4 (Cognitive Abilities Test): not pass/fail, but used to understand learning profiles and provide tailored support.
• Checkpoint Scores are optional and are not required but may be submitted to support an application.
They offer a helpful insight, though recent school reports remain our key reference for admissions into Year 9.
Sixth Form Admissions
Academic Requirements:
• Minimum of five GCSEs at Grade 6 (B) or above, including English Language and Mathematics.
OR
• Five WAEC credits, at a minimum credit level and including English Language and Mathematics.
• And at least Grade 6 (B) in the subjects to be studied at A-Level.
Sixth Form Admissions Process:
• A 1:1 meeting with the Head of Sixth Form to explore academic strengths, subject interests, ambitions, and support needs.
• Completion of the CAT4 (Cognitive Abilities Test): not pass/fail, but used to understand learning profiles and provide tailored support.
