Charterhouse Lagos: An Exceptional Learning Environment

Learning beyond the four walls of the classroom

Charterhouse Lagos’ learning experience extends beyond the traditional classroom to a more dynamic curriculum. Beyond pursuing academic excellence, our commitment to a holistic learning journey is exemplified through a diverse range of extracurricular activities, embracing facets from sports and creativity to arts and music.

Demonstrating this ethos and our dedication to nurturing well-rounded learners, we recently announced the appointment of Directors of Music and Sport, joining the team in August 2024.

Janet Wood, Director of Music

Mrs Wood has a rich range of educational experience, teaching from Nursery to IB Diploma/A Level classes in the UK and internationally, including The Alice Smith School, Kuala Lumpur, Aiglon College, Villars, and John F. Kennedy School, Switzerland. She delivers dynamic learning that inspires students to express themselves freely and with a sense of joy during all musical activities, both in the classroom and on the stage.

Andrew Jamieson, Director of Sport

Mr Jamieson drives a positive and nurturing environment for ‘Sport for All’ and opportunities for elite performance. Children in his duty of care have enjoyed success at local, regional, and national levels in various sports, with a significant number becoming international sportsmen and women. In addition to teaching in several UK schools, He has also taught in international schools in Kenya and Singapore.

Teachers' Recruitment

Ahead of the opening of our primary school in September 2024, we are working assiduously to build a team of exceptional educators to deliver our specially developed curriculum.

Our international recruitment is ongoing with over 70 interviews conducted with candidates from across 22 countries. We held a recruitment fair in London in November 2023 and our national recruitment fair will be held in Lagos in January 2024.

Charterhouse Lagos believes in promoting academic rigour, developing intellectual curiosity, nurturing children and their ability and desire to learn independently. This is why we have put together a list of five creative ways you can make this Christmas a learning arc for your kids.
